BOSTON’S FREE PRESCHOOL INITIATIVE

BOSTON’S FREE PRESCHOOL INITIATIVE

Now parents of preschool age kids can take advantage of IBA Preschool’s outstanding bilingual curriculum for $0, absolutely FREE!

The Boston Universal Pre-K Program (UPK) is a city-wide initiative in partnership with community early learning centers, like IBA’s Preschool, and Boston Public Schools. The program offers early education that is nationally accredited and meets all national standards for high-quality early education.

Children who are Boston residents and at least four years old as of September 1st are eligible for this program and may be entitled to the following benefits.

The UPK program provides at no cost to you:

  • Access to high-quality preschool education
  • 6.5 hours per day (8am - 2:30pm)
  • 180 days a year following the Boston Public School Calendar

If your child will be attending IBA’s preschool for hours and days beyond those covered under the UPK program, a sliding scale will be applied.

The UPK program does not provide free access to preschool beyond the 180 days nor free access to preschool for hours beyond 6.5 hours/day from 8:00AM - 2:30PM. It will then be the parent’s responsibility to cover fees from June 1st to August 31st and preschool services beyond 2:30PM from September 1st to May 31st, as well as holidays and vacations.

To help you calculate the incurring costs if you go over the allotted time covered by the UPK program, costs will be calculated as follows:

  • Total program’s tuition cost
  • Program’s hours of operations
  • Child’s enrollment schedule (within a contracted start and end date),
  • Funded schedule (for hours above 6.5/day and days over 180/year)

You are cordially invited to our Preschool Virtual Open House today January 27th where details about this program and our curriculum will be presented, as well as a Q&A session held at the end to answer any questions you may have. Just register here to receive a link to attend.

If you or someone you know may be eligible for this program, please contact vlaboy@ibaboston.org and request an eligibility form today!
